Kaden was like always, himself, I mean I honestly don’t know whether I’m supposed to hate, love or pity this guy. The secrets hidden in those songs of Venda and the holy texts of Morrighan finally made sense and holy smokes those were mind blowing! There were a lot of new sides to characters we’d already met down the road that let up to this created genius of a conclusion and those sides were so interesting to discover and learn more about. Her gift has now almost fully developed and so many things were brought to light, the mysteries in the previous books were finally unravelled and it was so immensely satisfying- my God! I love how she never does anything rash, ahum almost never does anything rash, you know what scratch that, she almost never thinks anything through which makes the story just much more interesting because you won’t know the outcome, or be able to predict the consequences of those actions. Definitely one of my favourite female protagonists of all time. Lia was, like I said, freaking perfect, as always. They were all safe and sound, well some of them.Ĭan I just say that this trilogy was basically one big fantasy road trip? The amount of time these characters have spend travelling in each other’s company is astounding, and the fact that they still don’t get along is hilarious. This book was super fast paced, and you couldn’t skip a page, or you’d lose the storyline, which is honestly just the best, it needs your full attention and it deserves it, since when are conclusions to books so peaceful? I mean damn, I was so scared my babies would die, but alas my angst was for naught. Can’t help it, love me some dark tortured souls. Honestly the Komizar, or Reginaus *he’s apparently a fearsome leader* is the only one who’s been able to make my heartbeat pick up the pace. Just continue to be your perfect whiny little self and you’ll be sure to end up alone, *applauds*, I mean honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever learn to love him, or Kaden for that matter. The main characters were killing it, seriously Rafe? Yes babe, yes. Lia’s transformation from rebel princess to ferocious rebel queen was truly a sight to behold, they grow up so fast. Once I’d started I just couldn’t put it down, like, at all. This was everything a final book in a trilogy needs to be, and it was everything I’d wished for, it was funny, romantic, cute and yet completely bad ass and heart stopping. While she struggles to reach Morrighan and warn them, she finds herself at cross-purposes with Rafe and suspicious of Kaden, who has hunted her down. With war on the horizon, Lia has no choice but to assume her role as First Daughter, as soldier-as leader. Lia has survived Venda-but so has a great evil bent on the destruction of Morrighan.
